iLA is pleased to announce our successful appointment as a provider of Residential Aged Care (RAC) Funding Assessments. As a growing for purpose organisation, iLA is seeking RAC Funding Assessors to join our Aged Care Assessment workforce.
THE ROLE
Are you a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist with five years aged care experience? If so, we have an opportunity for you to join our team!
As a RAC Funding Assessor, your role will be based in Residential Aged Care Facilitates across the Metropolitan area, completing Aged Care Funding Assessments using the Australian National - Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) tool.
Key responsibilities
- Utilising the AN-ACC assessment tool to assess a resident’s functional, cognitive and physical needs.
- Ensure all assessments are completed within AN-ACC guidelines and meet the quality and compliance standards set out by the Department of Health and Aged care and other regulatory bodies.
- Work closely with aged care facility staff, including nurses and care coordinators, to gather relevant information to support the assessment process.
- Participate in regular audits of AN-ACC assessments and provide feedback and suggestions to identify areas for improvement and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Liaise with residents to explain the assessment process and address any concerns or queries.
- Participate in professional development and keep up to date with changes in legislation, policies, and guidelines related to AN-ACC and aged care funding.
- Conduct culturally sensitive assessments for specific groups such as those who may identify as; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD background, the LGBTIQ+ community or vulnerable groups
- Maintain up-to-date records of all assessments and related documentation in the My Aged Care portal.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy with a minimum of 5 years qualified.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Australia or overseas directly delivering services in aged care settings and/or to aged persons.
- Current unrestricted registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency (APHRA) or other relevant professional association.
- Up to date vaccination record in line with Department of Health and Aged Care contractual requirements.
- NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Unrestricted driver’s license and comprehensively insured vehicle.
Upon commencement in the role of RAC Funding Assessor, the following training must be achieved:
- The Department of Health and Aged Care four-day training course and award of unrestricted accreditation or restricted accreditation status.
- Department’s online RAC Funding Assessor renewal course and exam when required by the Department.
